Of course, it’s still nearly freezing here in Fulton as the players start the second game.
Your Bleacher Denizen needs to suspend his internal logic because even though we are in Middleton, MI on Fulton’s baseball field, the Dansville Aggies will be the home team for the second game. Your Bleacher Denizen’s aging mind is boggled!!

Bryson Sattler led off the top game for Fulton by beating out a single to third base. Bryson Sattler stole second base and took third base on a wild pitch. Carson Litwiller rifled a double down the third base line to drive Bryson Sattler home. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Pirate batter. Parker Duflo was hit by a pitch. Fulton pulled off a double steal; Carson Litwiller advanced to third base and Parker Duflo to second base. Jared Akin walked to load the bases.
Carson Litwiller scored as Parker Duflo went to third base and Jared Akin to second base on an RBI groundout to first base by Lincoln Beltinck. Parker Duflo scored and Jared Akin advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Connor Cunningham walked and stole second base. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Pirate batter to end the inning.
Fulton scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.
Parker Billings retired the first two Aggie hitters in the top of the first inning on a fly to right field and a strikeout. Mayson Burgett walked and stole second base. Lincoln Beltinck made a fine running catch in center field to record the third Aggie out.
Nathan Sherwood retired the three Fulton second inning hitters on a strikeout, a fly to center field and another strikeout.
Parker Billings struck out the Aggie leadoff batter in the bottom of the second inning. Quentin Mayes walked and advanced to second base on a single to right field by Joey McMillan. Parker Billings struck out the next Dansville hitter. Quentin Mayes took third base and Joey McMillan second base on a wild pitch. Parker Billings struck out the next Aggie batter to end the inning.
Parker Billings walked to lead off the top of the third inning for Fulton. Parker Duflo was safe at first base and Parker Billings out at second base on a fielder’s choice grounder to third base. Tanner Villalobos went in as a courtesy runner for Parker Duflo. Tanner Villalobos stole second base and went to third base on an overthrow. Tanner Villalobos scored when Jared Akins was safe at third base on a series of Aggie errors. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Pirate batter to end the inning.
Fulton scored one run in the top of the third inning to extend its lead to 4-0.
Austin Hovey walked to lead off the top of the third inning for Dansville. Fulton Catcher Bryson Sattler fired the ball to second base to catch the runner stealing.
Parker Duflo went in to pitch for the Pirates. Parker Billings went to third base and Carson Litwiller moved to shortstop, which is his third infield position of the day. (He played second base in the opener. He started the second game at third base and moved to shortstop.)
Parker Duflo struck out the next Aggie batter. Mayson Burgett drew a walk. The next batter was out on a fielder’s choice grounder to the shortstop to end the inning.
Connor Cunningham was hit by a pitch to open the top of the fourth inning for Fulton. Robert Kral was safe at first base and Connor Cunningham out at second on a fielder’s choice grounder to the shortstop. Robert Kral stole second base and Trevor Brown was hit by a pitch. Fulton pulled off a double steal as Robert Kral went to third base and Trevor Brown to second base. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next batter for the second Pirate out.
Quentin Mayes went to the mound for Dansville. Joey McMillan moved to shortstop. (He also has played three positions today, first base, second base and shortstop.) Randolph Schneider came in to play second base.
Quentin Mayes retired Carson Litwiller on a line drive to third base to end the inning while keeping Fulton scoreless.
Nathan Sherwood led off the bottom of the fourth inning for Dansville with a single to right field. Nathan Sherwood was out at second base and Quentin Mayes safe at first base on a fielder’s choice grounder to the shortstop. Joey McMillan singled to right field and Quentin Mayes advanced to third base. Joey McMillan stole second base. Broady Scott walked to load the bases with one out.
Jack Thayer pinch hit and drove Quentin Mayes home with a fielder’s choice ground out to third base. Joey McMillan was out at third base, Broady Scott went to second base and Jack Thayer was safe at first base and Quentin Mayes scored the Aggie run. Austin Hovey singled to right field. The runner nearly scored from second base, but was called out when he failed to touch the plate and Fulton appealed.
Dansville scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning to shave the Fulton lead to 4-1.
Parker Billings walked to lead off the top of the fifth inning for Fulton and took second base on a balk (although he would have stolen the base anyway.) Parker Billings advanced to third base when Parker Duflo was safe on an error. Parker Duflo stole second base. Quentin Mayes retired the next Pirate batter on a foul popup to the catcher and struck out the subsequent batter. Connor Cunningham walked to load the bases. Quentin Mayes struck out the next batter to keep Fulton from scoring in the inning even though the Pirates loaded the bases.
Robert Kral came in from left field to pitch for Fulton. Parker Duflo moved to second base. Connor Cunningham went from second base to left field. Parker Hungerford entered the game to play first base.
Robert Kral retired the first two Aggie batters in the bottom of the fifth inning on a grounder to the mound and a strikeout. Wyatt Mosley was safe at second base on an error. Robert Kral retired the next Aggie batter on a grounder to the shortstop to end the inning.
Fulton had a 4-1 lead after five full innings. Because it was starting to get dark, this was the final inning of the second game; Fulton was the winner.
Joey McMillan had two singles for Dansville. Austin Hovey and Nathan Sherwood each had one single. Jack Thayer contributed an RBI.
Nathan Sherwood pitched three and two thirds innings for Dansville. Quentin Mayes pitched one and one third inning of shutout relief.
Carson Litwiller had a double and one RBI for Fulton. Bryson Sattler had one single. Lincoln Beltinck had one RBI.
