Webberville at Fulton – – Eight Man Football – – The Bleacher Denizen – – September 12, 2025 – – by Chuck Krafft

Today your Bleacher Denizen is at Fulton High School where the Pirates will try to fend off a football invasion by the Webberville Spartans. Fulton has a 2-0 record coming into the game while Webberville has been 0-2. This game could be a tough one for the Spartans because they only have ten players tonight while Fulton has eighteen.

When I got to Fulton High, I was delighted to learn that veteran announcer Dakota Malek would be calling the game in the press box. The two of us were in the box together doing most of the spotting. (Actually, Dakota did 90% of it an did an amazing job. You will see how complete the notes are when you read the article.) Also, I do realize that Dakota just graduated from Fulton last year, but he has announced so many games that I have no qualms calling him a “veteran.” He really announces well!

Also, it was cool to see that Gratiot County 911 Central Dispatch had a table out where people were entering the stadium. They were passing out important safety information.

It was then time for the Fulton Band led by Drum Major Lillian Reynolds, to march onto the field. They played the Fulton Fight Song and the National Anthem. After Dakota Malek made an announcement commemorating the events of September 11, 2001, it was time for the game to start!
