Today, the Bleacher Denizen is at Waverly High, where the Warriors are hosting Dansville in a doubleheader. This is the play by play of Game 2. Here is a link to the play by play for Game 1.

Trey Combs will play third base, but will not bat.

Dylan Ream singled up the middle to lead off the top of the first inning for Dansville. He advanced to second base on a wild pitch and scored when Wyatt Mosley was safe at second base on an error. Cam Graf beat out an infield single to third base as Wyatt Mosley held at second base. Mason Ruttan singled to left field to drive in Wyatt Mosely as Cam Graf advanced to second base.

Everett Dysinger came in as a courtesy runner for Mason Ruttan. Cam Graf went to third base and Everett Dysinger second base when Quentin Mayes beat out an infield single. Gaige Coutu struck out the next Dansville batter. Joey McMillan walked to force Cam Graf home. Logan Storey entered the game as a courtesy runner for Quentin Mayes. Mason Burgett walked to force Everett Dysinger home. Gaige Coutu struck out the next Dansville hitter.

Dylan Ream singled up the middle to drive in Logan Storey. Waverly Center Fielder Jackson made a nice throw to the infield to pick the runner off second base to record the third Aggie out.

Dansville scored five runs in the top of the first inning to take a 5-0 lead.

Dansville Left Fielder Alex Baker made a fine running catch in left field to retire Waverly’s leadoff batter in the top of the first inning. Jackson Gomez walked. He was out at second base and Iggy Arroyo was safe at first on a fielder’s choice hit to left field. Iggy Arroyo advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Mo Lerma doubled to drive in Iggy Arroyo. Dansville Pitcher Quentin Mayes retired the next batter on a fly to right field.

Waverly scored one run in the bottom of the first inning to trim the Dansville lead to 5-1.

Gunner Pappas moved to third base and Trey Combs moved from third base to second base for Waverly.

Gaige Coutu retired the first two Aggie hitters in the top of the second inning on ground balls to first base. Mason Ruttan singled to right field. Everett Dysinger went in as a courtesy runner for Mason Ruttan. Everett Dysinger advanced to second base on an errant pickoff throw. When Quentin Mayes walked, Everett Dysinger stole third base on ball four. Logan Storey entered the game as a courtesy runner for Quentin Mayes.

Everett Dysinger scored and Logan Storey advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Nate Sherwood singled to center field to drive Logan Storey home. Nate Sherwood went to second base when Joey McMillan walked. Aian Sanders came in to pitch for Waverly.

Aian Sanders retired the next batter on a soft line drive to third base.

Dansville scored two runs in the top of the second inning to boost its lead to 7-1.

Jared Londo led off the second inning for Waverly and was safe at first base on an error. Jared took second base when Dom Stone was safe at first on an error. Kaleb Farr was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Aian Sanders singled to center field to drive in Jared Londo as Dom Stone went to third base and Kaleb Farr to second. Rene Gomez entered the game as a courtesy runner for Aian Sanders.

Gunner Pappas singled to center field to drive in Dom Stone as Kaleb Farr moved to third base and Rene Gomez advanced to second base. Jackson Gomez was safe at first on an error. Kaleb Farr scored, Rene Gomez went to third base and Gunner Pappas went to second. Rene Gomez scored, Gunner Pappas took third base and Jackson Gomez went to second base when Iggy Arroyo walked.

Gunner Pappas scored, Jackson Gomez went to third base and Iggy Arroyo to second on a wild pitch. Jackson Gomez scored and Iggy Arroyo took third base on Mo Lerma’s RBI groundout to second base. Jackson DeLong walked and took second base on a wild pitch.

Everett Dysinger came in to pitch for Dansville. Jared Lerma walked. Jackson DeLong stole third base. Jared Lerma stole second base. Dom Stone walked to load the bases. Kaleb Farr walked to force Jackson DeLong home. Jared Londo moved up to third base and Dom Stone to second base. Jared Londo, Dom Stone and Kaleb Farr all scored when Aian Sanders was safe at second on an error.

Rene Gomez came in as a courtesy runner for Aian Sanders. Gunner Pappas blooped a single to right field as Rene Gomez held at second base. Rene Gomez went to third base, Gunner Pappas was out at second base and Jackson Gomez safe at first base on a fielder’s choice grounder to the shortstop. Iggy Arroyo singled and drove in Rene Gomez and Jackson Gomez. Iggy Arroyo stole second base. Mo Lerma singled to drive in Iggy Arroyo and took second base on the throw home.

Jackson DeLong singled to left field to drive in Mo Lerma. Waverly made its third out of the inning on a groundout to third base.

Waverly scored fifteen runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 16-7 lead.

Aian Sanders fielded a bunt and threw out the Dansville fourth inning leadoff batter. Dylan Ream doubled to left field and went to third base on a wild pitch. Wyatt Mosley walked. Cam Graf was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Aian Sanders struck out the next Aggie batter to end the inning.

Mason Burgett moved from right field to pitcher for Dansville.

Dom Stone was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning for Waverly. He took second base when Kaleb Farr drilled a line drive single to left field. Aian Sanders singled; Dom Stone went to third base and Kaleb Farr to second. Rene Gomez entered the game as a courtesy runner.

Gunner Pappas was hit by a pitch and Dom Stone was forced to score. Kaleb Farr went to third base and Rene Gomez to second. Jackson Gomez drilled a single to center field to drive in Kaleb Farr and Rene Gomez as Gunner Pappas went to third base. Iggy Arroyo drove in Gunner Pappas on a fielder’s choice popup to first base; Jackson Gomez was thrown out at second base on the play.

Iggy Arroyo went to third base on a pickoff throwing error. Mo Lerma walked; Iggy Arroyo scored when ball four was a wild pitch. Jackson DeLong hit an infield single. Mo Lerma scored on a throwing error after Jackson DeLong was safe.

This run gave Waverly a 22-7 lead and the game was ended because of the mercy rule.

Dylan Ream had a double, two singles and one RBI for Dansville. Mason Ruttan had two singles and one RBI. Nate Sherwood had a single and one RBI. Cam Graf and Quentin Mayes each had a single. Joey McMillan and Mason Burgett each had one RBI.

Mo Lerma had a double, a single and three RBI for Waverly. Gunner Pappas had two singles and two RBI. Aian Sanders and Jackson DeLong each had two singles and one RBI. Iggy Arroyo had a single and three RBI. Jackson Gomez had a single and two RBI. Kaleb Farr had a single and one RBI.
