Fowler at Laingsburg – – Softball – – Second Game of Doubleheader – – The Bleacher Denizen – – April 24, 2025 – – by Chuck Krafft

It is now time to watch the second game of the doublheader between the Fowler Eagles and the Laingsburg Wolfpack. I covered the first game which had an exciting ending. Here is a link to that article. https://thebleacherdenizen.com/2025/04/25/fowler-at-laingsburg-softball-first-game-of-doubleheader-the-bleacher-denizen-april-24-2025-by-chuck-krafft/

Between games, I met Laingsburg’s youngest fan, who is probably only a couple months old. I told her that it was her job to cry as loud as possible whenever the umpire called a Laingsburg player out, but I’m not completely sure she understood her assignment.

Anyway, I got to Laingsburg’s dugout where I had my first real conversation ever with Coach Cheadle as I got the lineups. He is a great guy; I can see why the girls play for him. (Of course, I should not leave out Coach Andros from Fowler who is always as supportive of me as he could be as well.)

Doubleheaders in baseball and softball always present your Bleacher Denizen with some logical struggles as the visitors morph into the home team and the home team morphs into the visiting team. (I think that this could be a great special effect in a movie!!) Anyway, while your Bleacher Denizen’s mind boggles, everyone else seems to get it so it is probably OK.

Here are the starting lineups. As said, even though we are playing in Laingsburg, the Wolfpack is the visiting team and will bat first.

Let’s take a look at this game through the somewhat clear lens of an Aging Bleacher Denizen who was never able to accomplish much as a baseball player. Alas, this gradually affected his playing time in a negative way.
