Your Bleacher Denizen is at the Pewamo-Westphalia baseball team where the Pirates are hosting the Laingsburg Wolfpack in a CMAC conference doubleheader. I covered the first game as well and the play by play of that game is here. https://thebleacherdenizen.com/2026/05/13/laingsburg-at-pewamo-westphalia-first-game-of-baseball-doubleheader-the-bleacher-denizen-may-12-2026-by-chuck-krafft/
While we wait for this game to start, I hope you will enjoy this Mavericks’ cover, “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down” from my You Tube Channel!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=et0d9YvK0u4
As this is the second game of the doubleheader, even though we are on the Pewamo-Westphalia baseball field, the Pirates will be the visiting team and bat first. While it does not take much to confuse a mere Bleacher Denizen, he seems to struggle with this mind-boggling concept. Fortunately, the umpires, coaches and players don’t seem to be fazed at all!

I’m not so sure just why EVERYONE has to run the bases the same way, but I guess the baseball powers that be think differently related to that.
