Laingsburg at Dansville – – Second Game of Baseball Doubleheader – – The Bleacher Denizen – – April 23, 2026 – – by Chuck Krafft

Today, the Bleacher Denizen is at Dansville where the Aggies are hosting the Wolfpack from Laingsburg in a CMAC Baseball doubleheader. I also covered the first game. In this game, even though we are on Dansville’s baseball field, the Aggies will be the “visiting team” and bat first, while Laingsburg will be the “home team.” Sometimes, it does not take much to confuse your Aging Bleacher Denizen, but I will persevere and try to understand the game!

It is now time to review the events of this game through the occasionally observant eyes of an Aging Bleacher Denizen who was not able to get his baseball career off to a good start. It seems he had much difficulty using a bat to hit thrown baseballs. He requested a special dispensation that would allow him twelve strikes per at bat, but the baseball powers that be refused to allow it. Thus, your Bleacher Denizen spent more time watching his teammates than actually playing.

Titan Sindel retired the three Dansville hitters in the top of the third inning on a strikeout, a grounder to shortstop and a bouncer to the mound.

Broady Scott made a great diving effort in center field to snare a drive by Laingsburg leadoff batter Quintin Garcia, but the ball fell in for a single. Dansville Pitcher Cullen Carls struck out the next Laingsburg hitter. Quintin Garcia went to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Everett Rodriquez. Liam Esch grounded a single to right field to drive Quintin Garcia home. Cullen Carls struck out the next Wolfpack batter to end the inning.

Laingsburg scored one run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.

Nathan Sherwood singled to center field to lead off the top of the second inning for Dansville and went to second on a fielding error. Titan Sindel struck out the next Aggie batter. Nathan Sherwood stole third base. Nolan Haselby singled to right field to drive Nathan Sherwood home. Titan Sindel struck out the next Aggie batter to end the inning.

Dansville scored one run in the top of the second inning to tie the game at 1-1.

Aggie Pitcher Cullen Carls struck out the first Wolfpack batters in the bottom of the second inning. Titan Sindel singled to center field despite a great diving effort by Aggie Center Fielder Broady Scott. Laingsburg made its third out on a bouncer to second base.

Randolf Schneider led off the top of the third inning for Dansville and was hit by a pitch. He went to second base when Broady Scott singled to left field. Randolf Schneider advanced to third base and Broady Scott to second base on a groundout to third base by Cavren Gavin. Titan Sindel got the next Aggie hitter out on a popup to second base. Nathan Sherwood was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Randolf Schneider was forced in to score when Joey McMillan was hit by a pitch. Broady Scott advanced to third base and Nathan Sherwood to second base. Broady Scott was forced in to score when Cullen Carls was hit by a pitch. Nathan Sherwood went to third base and Joey McMillan to second base. Nathan Sherwood scored when Nolan Haselby beat out an infield single. Joey McMillan took third base and Cullen Carls second.

Dez Herold came in to pitch for Laingsburg. He struck out the next Dansville batter to end the inning.

Dansville scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead.

Cullen Carls retired the first two hitters in the bottom of the third inning on a foul popup to the catcher and a bouncer to the mound. Everett Rodriquez walked and went to second base on a wild pitch. Laingsburg made its third out on a line drive to third base.

Dez Harold retired Dansville’s leadoff batter in the top of the fourth inning on a grounder to first base. Broady Scott was hit by a pitch. Dez Harold got the next Aggie hitter to hit a grounder to shortstop Everett Rodriquez, whoH relayed the ball to Second Baseman Paxton Rodriquez, who threw to First Baseman Harrison Dorman to complete the double play and end the inning.

Cullen Carls retired Laingsburg’s leadoff batter in the bottom of the fourth inning on a liner to third base. Colton Heaton singled to center field. Jake Rivet doubled to center field and Colton Heaton moved up to third base. Cullen Carls retired the next batter on a foul popup to the catcher and struck out the next Wolfpack hitter to end the inning while neutralizing the Laingsburg threat.

Hunter Greenman led off the top of the fifth inning for Dansville with a double to center field and then stole third base. Nathan Sherwood walked. Nathan Sherwood took off for second base trying to draw a throw so the runner would score. This caused the Laingsburg pitcher to commit a balk. Hunter Greenman scored on the play and Nathan Sherwood advanced to second base. Nathan Sherwood went to third base on a bounceout to the pitcher.

Cullen Carls bunted and was safe at first on a fielder’s choice as Nathan Sherwood was thrown out at home plate. Dez Herold retired the next Aggie hitter on a bouncer to the mound to end the inning.

Dansville scored one run in the top of the fifth inning to boost its lead to 5-1.

Nolan Haselby came in to pitch for Dansville. Cullen Carls moved to catcher. Hunter Greenman moved to center field. Broady Scott went to left field. Randolf Schneider went to third base and Nathan Sherwood took over at shortstop.

Nolan Haselby retired the Wolfpack leadoff batter in the bottom of the fifth inning on a fly to center field. Paxton Rodriquez singled to right field. Paxton Rodriquez beat a great throw by Aggie Catcher Cullen Carls to steal second base. Nolan Haselby retired the next batter on a fly to center field. Paxton Rodriquez scored when Liam Esch was safe on an error. Liam Esch made it all the way to third base on an over throw and scored on a single to left field by Harrison Dorman. Nolan Haselby struck out the next batter to end the inning.

Laingsburg scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to shave the Dansville lead to 5-3.

Laingsburg Right Fielder Colton Heaton threw the ball to first base to take an apparent single away from Dansville’s leadoff batter as he did not get to first base in time.

Logan Potter came in to pitch for Laingsburg. Logan Potter retired the next Aggie hitter on a bunt to the pitcher. Broady Scott singled to left field and stole second base. Logan Potter struck out the next batter to end the inning.

Nolan Haselby struck out the first two Laingsburg batters in the bottom of the sixth inning. Cooper Morr walked. Nolan Haselby retired the next batter on a foul popup to first base to end the inning.

Laingsburg Right Fielder Colton made a fine running catch of a drive by Dansville’s leadoff batter to get the first Aggie out of the seventh inning. Logan Potter retired the next two Aggie hitters on a strikeout and a groundout to the shortstop to end the inning.

Dansville took a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning.

Paxton Rodriquez walked to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning for Laingsburg and went to second base when Everett Rodriquez was hit by a pitch.

Nathan Sherwood came in to pitch for Dansville and Nolan Haselby returned to shortstop.

Paxton Rodriquez advanced to third base and Everett Rodriquez to second on a sacrifice bunt by Liam Esch. Paxton Rodriquez scored and Everett Rodriquez went to third base on an RBI groundout to first base by Harrison Dorman. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Wolfpack hitter to end the inning and the game.

Laingsburg scored one run in the bottom of the inning to close the Dansville lead to one run. Dansville won the second game to earn a split of the doubleheader by the final score of 5-4.

Jake Rivet had one double for Laingsburg. Harrison Dorman had one single and two RBI. Liam Esch had one single and one RBI. Quintin Garcia, Paxton Rodriquez, Colton Heaton and Titan Sindel each had one single.

Titan Sindel pitched two and two thirds innings and gave up four runs. He struck out four batters. Dez Herold pitched two and two thirds innings. He gave up four runs and struck out one batter. Logan Potter pitched one and two thirds shutout innings and struck out two batters.

Nolan Hasleby had two singles and two RBI for Dansville. Hunter Greenman had one double. Broady Scott had two singles. Nathan Sherwood had one single. Joey McMillen and Cullen Carls each had one RBI.

Cullen Carls pitched four innings for Dansville and gave up one run while striking out four batters. Nolan Haselby pitched two innings and gave up three runs; however, only one was an earned run. He struck out three batters. Nathan Sherwood pitched one shutout inning to close the game.
