Here are the starting lineups for Game 2. Even though Dansville is the home team, they will bat first. The Bleacher Denizen struggles to understand, but is starting to get it!

It is now time to review the events of this contest through the aging eyes of an ancient Bleacher Denizen whose baseball career stalled after the baseball powers that be refused to allow him to use a shoulder cannon to throw his pitches.

Dylan Ream lined a double to left field to lead off the top of the first inning for the Aggies. Mason Ruttan walked. Shamrock Pitcher Devin Cook retired the next batter on a fly to left field. Wyatt Mosely singled as Dylan Ream took third base and Mason Ruttan second base. Mayson Burgett singled to left field to drive in Dylan Ream as Mason Ruttan went to third base and Wyatt Mosley to second base.

Nathan Sherwood singled to right field to drive Mason Ruttan and Wyatt Mosely home as Mayson Burgett went to second base. Devin Cook got the next hitter to Shamrock Second Baseman Nathan Fears, who flipped the ball to Shortstop Jerryd Scheurer for the force; Jerryd Scheurer fired the ball to first baseman Tyler Groothuis to complete the double play and end the inning.

Dansville scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Lucas Simon singled to center field to lead off the bottom of the first inning for St. Patrick and stole second base. Lucas Simon went to third base on a bunt single by Jerryd Scheurer. Jerryd Scheurer stole second base. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Shamrock batter. Charlie Thelen was out on a sacrifice fly to center field. He drove in Lucas Simon and Jerryd Scheurer advanced to third base. Brayden Simon was hit by a pitch. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next Shamrock batter to end the inning.

St. Patrick scored one run in the bottom of the first inning to trim the Dansville lead to 3-1.

Lucas Simon came in to pitch for St. Patrick. I was not able to see the other position switches from the press box.

Lucas Simon retired Dansville’s leadoff batter on a fly to right field. Quentin Mayes was safe at first base on an error. Alex Baker entered the game as a courtesy runner for Quentin Mayes. Alex Baker took second base on a wild pitch. Alex Baker advanced to third base on a groundout to third base by Dylan Ream. Alex Baker Baker scored on a throwing error.

Mason Ruttan singled to right field. Mason Ruttan went to second base when Cam Graf was hit by a pitch. Wyatt Mosley singled to right field. Mason Ruttan went to third base and Cam Graf to second base. Mayson Burgett singled to right field to drive Mason Ruttan home. Cam Graf moved up to third base and Wyatt Mosley to second base. Lucas Simon retired the next Aggie batter on a fly to right field to end the inning.

Dansville scored two runs in the top of the second inning to boost its lead to 5-1.

Nathan Sherwood retired the St. Patrick leadoff hitter in the bottom of the second inning on a popup to third base. T.J. Chamberlain walked. Quentin Mayes made an excellent throw to second base to catch the runner stealing. Nathan Sherwood struck out the next St. Patrick hitter to end the inning.

St. Patrick Shortstop made a fine play ranging to his right and threw the Dansville leadoff batter in the top of the third inning out. Lucas Simon retired the next Aggie batter on a fly to second base. St. Patrick’s center fielder Brady Leonard made an excellent running catch to retire next batter and end the inning.

Lucas Simon was safe on an error to lead off the bottom of the third inning for the Shamrocks; he stole third base. Jerryd Scheurer walked and stole second base. Brady Leonard singled to right field to drive in Lucas Simon. When several throwing errors were made, both Jerryd Scheurer and Brady Leonard were able to score.

Charlie Thelen grounded a single to left field and took second base on a sacrifice bunt by Brayden Simon. Simon White doubled to drive Charlie Thelen home to tie the game.

Dylan Ream came in to pitch for Dansville. Wyatt Mosley came in to play shortstop. (This is the first left handed shortstop I have seen in a while!) Austin Hovey went to center field.

Simon White stole third base. Nathan Fears walked. Nathan Fears stole second base. The next Shamrock batter was out on a fly to the shortstop. Riley Mosser walked to load the bases. Quentin Mayes made a great stop of a potential wild pitch to save a run. Dylan Ream got the next Shamrock batter out on a popup to the shortstop to end the inning.

St. Patrick scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at 5-5.

Lucas Simon struck out the Aggie leadoff batter in the top of the fourth inning. Mason Ruttan walked. Lucas Simon got the next hitter to bounce back to the mound. He threw the ball to shortstop Jerryd Scheurer, who got the force at second base and fired the ball to first base to complete an inning-ending double play.

Austin Hovey made a fine catch in center field to retire the St. Patrick leadoff batter in the bottom of the fourth inning. Brady Leonard walked and stole second base. The next Shamrock batter was out on a line drive to center field. Brady Leonard stole third base. Brayden Simon walked. Brady Leonard scored and Brayden Simon advanced to third base on a balk. Aggie Center Fielder Austin Hovey made a nice running catch running in to record the third out.

St. Patrick scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 6-5 lead.

Tyler Thelen came in to pitch for the Shamrocks.

Tyler Thelen retired the three Dansville batters in the fifth inning on flies to left field, right field and center field.

Nathan Fears walked to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning for the Shamrocks. Nathan Fears stole second base. Nathan Fears advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Thelen. Riley Mosser bunted and was safe at first; the runner was out at third base when Pitcher Dylan Ream threw behind the runner. Riley Mosser stole second base. The Shamrocks made their third out on a foul popup to first base.

With five full innings in the books, St. Patrick had a 6-5 lead.

Shamrock Pitcher Tyler Thelen made a nice running catch of a foul popup to record Dansville’s first out in the top of the sixth inning. Joey McMillan walked. Alex Baker was safe at first base when an error was made on his sacrifice bunt. Joey McMillan advanced to second base. Tyler Thelen reacted quickly to catch an attempted bunt in the air and threw to second base to double off the runner to end the inning.

Jerryd Scheurer was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning for St. Patrick. Jerryd Scheurer stole second base. Jerryd Scheurer went to third base when Brady Leonard was safe as an error was made on his sacrifice bunt. Brady Leonard stole second base. Jerryd Scheurer scored and Brady Leonard advanced to third base on a sacrifice fly to center field by Charlie Thelen.

Brady Leonard scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Charlie Thelen. (Charlie Thelen was out at first base.) Simon White was safe at second base on an error. The Shamrocks made their third out on a popup to the pitcher.

St. Patrick scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend its lead to 8-5.

Jerryd Scheurer came in to pitch the seventh inning for St. Patrick. Brayden Simon moved to shortstop and Brady Leonard to third base.

Mason Ruttan was hit by a pitch to lead off the top of the seventh inning for Dansville. Everett Dysinger entered the game to run for Mason Ruttan. Jerryd Scheurer struck out the next Aggie batter. Shamrock Catcher Charlie Thelen fired the ball to first base to pick off the runner. Jerryd Scheurer struck out the next batter to end the game.

St. Patrick won the second game of this doubleheader by the score of 8-5.

Mayson Burgett had two singles and two RBI for Dansville. Wyatt Mosley had two singles. Nathan Sherwood had a single and two RBI. Dylan Ream had a double. Mason Ruttan had a single.

Nathan Sherwood pitched two and one third of an inning for Dansville. He gave up five runs and struck out three batters. Dylan Ream pitched three and two thirds innings and gave up three runs.

Brayden Simon had a double and one RBI for St. Patrick. Brady Leonard and Charlie Thelen each had a single and one RBI. Lucas Simon and Jerryd Scheurer each had one single.

Devin Cook pitched one inning and gave up three runs for St. Patrick. Lucas Simon pitched three innings and gave up two runs while striking out two batters. Tyler Thelen pitched two scoreless innings. Jerryd Scheurer pitched one inning and struck out two batters.
