It is not time to review the events of this game through the ancient eyes of a Bleacher Denizen who will always treasure the memory of the only fair ball he ever hit in little league!

Isabel Cumper retired the three Frankenmuth batters in the top of the first inning on a grounder to second base, a fly to the shortstop Freeland a foul popup to first base.

Jenna Kowalski singled up the middle to lead off the bottom of the first inning for Freeland. Jenna Kowalski was out at second base and Zoey Markey safe at first on a fielder’s choice grounder to second base. Zoey Markey stole second base. Brooklyn Compau retired the next batter on a soft fly to second base. Isabel Cumper singled to drive in Zoey Markey and took second base on the throw home. Jenna Irrer entered the game as a courtesy runner for Isabel Cumper. Brooklyn Compau retired the next batter on a fly to first base to end the inning.

Kendall Thompson walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning for Frankenmuth and advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Emily Worden. Chloe Compau singled to left field to send Kendall Thompson to third base. Chloe Compau took second base when Freeland threw to third base to try to catch the runner rounding the bag. Peyton Anderson singled to center field to drive in Kendall Thompson as Chloe Compau advanced to third Base.

Rose Spero entered the game as a courtesy runner for Peyton Anderson. Izzy Bernthal was safe at first base when she struck out, but the third strike was not caught. With the bases loaded, Kennedy Crandall hit an RBI grounder to second base. Chloe Compau scored, Rose Spero went to third base as Izzy Bernthal took second base. Isabel Cumper struck out the next batter to end the inning,

Frankenmuth scored two runs in the top of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.

Brooklyn Compau retired the first two Falcon hitters in the bottom of the second inning on a grounder to shortstop and a strikeout. Addie Steffen was hit by a pitch and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Brooklyn Compau struck out the next batter to end the inning,

Isabel Cumper retired Frankenmuth’s third inning leadoff batter on a soft foul fly to third base. Freeland left fielder Avery Mantei made a fine running play on a deep drive by Payton Schafsnitz to record the second Eagle out. Frankenmuth made its third out of the inning on a grounder to third base.

Jenna Kowalski walked to lead off the top of the third inning for Freeland. Brooklyn Compau got the next two Falcon batters out on a fly to the shortstop and a foul liner to first base where Kendall Thompson made a fine play. Eagle Left Fielder Brooklyn Compau made a great running catch in left field to record the third out.

After three full innings, Frankenmuth had a 2-1 lead.

Isabel Cumper retired the first two Frankenmuth hitters in the top of the fourth inning on a fly to second base and a grounder to second base. Peyton Anderson was safe at first base on an error. Rose Spero entered the game as a courtesy runner for Peyton Anderson. Isabel Cumper struck out the next Eagle batter to end the inning.

Freeland made its first out in the bottom of the fourth inning on a one hopper to the pitcher. Brynn Jaime walked and stole second base. Ashley Collier walked. Brynn Jaime advanced to third base and Ashley Collier to second when pinch hitter Grace Deshone was out on a squibber ball in front of the plate. Brooklyn Compau struck out the next Falcon hitter to end the inning while holding Freeland scoreless.

Isabel Cumper got the first two Eagle fifth inning hitters out on a strikeout and a grounder to shortstop, Tiffany Keller walked. Payton Schafsnitz lined a double to left field and Tiffany Keller went to third base. Kendall Thompson lined a single to left field and drove in Tiffany Keller and Payton Schafsnitz. Kendall Thompson darted all the way to third base on the throw to home. Frankenmuth made its third out on a fly to right field.

Frankenmuth scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to extend its lead to 4-1.

Jenna Kowalski singled up the middle to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning for Freeland. Jenna Kowalski was out at second and Zoey Markey safe at first on a fielder’s choice grounder to third base. Evelynn Rybicki singled to send Zoey Markey to second base. Brooklyn Compau struck out the next hitter. Zoey Markey went to third base and Evelynn Rybicki to second on a wild pitch. Brooklyn Compau fanned the next batter to end the inning while holding Freeland scoreless.

Ashley Collier came in to pitch for Freeland. Grace Deshone went to first base.

Peyton Anderson walked to lead off the top of the sixth inning for Frankenmuth. Rose Spero entered the game as a courtesy runner for Peyton Anderson. Izzy Bernthal singled to right field as Rose Spero went to second base. Rose Spero took third base and Izzy Bernthal second on a wild pitch. Kennedy Crandall was safe at first on a fielder’s choice. Rose Spero was out at home and Izzy Bernthal held at second base. Ashley Collier struck out the next batter to hold Frankenmuth scoreless for the inning.

Chloe Compau came in to pitch for Frankenmuth as Brooklyn Compau went out to left field.

Brynn Jaime walked to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning for the Falcons and stole second base. Ashley Collier walked. Grace Deshone walked to load the bases.

Brooklyn Compau came back in to pitch for Frankenmuth and Chloe Compau moved back to left field. Avery Mantei singled to right field and drove in Brynn Jaime. Eagle Right Fielder Jordan Decker threw the ball to Pitcher Brooklyn Compau, who relayed the ball home to catch the runner trying to score from second. Grace Deshone went to third base and Avery Mantei to second on the throw.

Grace Deshone scored and Avery Mantei advanced to third base when Jenna Kowalski was safe at second base on an error. Brooklyn Compau struck out the next Falcon batter. Avery Mantei scored when Evelynn Rybicki was safe on an error. Frankenmuth shortstop Payton Schafsnitz threw home to catch the runner trying to score from second base for the third out.

Freeland scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game at 4-4.

Ashley Collier retired the three Frankenmuth batters in the top of the seventh inning on a soft fly to the pitcher and two strikeouts.

Brooklyn Compau struck out the Falcon leadoff batter in the top of the seventh inning. Madeline McDonald walked. Brynn Jaime beat out a bunt single as Madeline McDonald advanced to second base. Madeline McDonald was out at third on a fielder’s choice grounder to third base. Brynn Jaime went to second base and Ashley Collier was safe at first on the play. Brynn Jaime advanced to third and Ashley Collier to second base on a wild pitch. Brooklyn Compau struck out the next batter to keep Freeland from scoring the winning run.

The game was tied at 4-4 after the regulation seven innings.

Jordan Decker was safe at first on an error to lead off the top of the eighth inning for Frankenmuth and went to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Chloe Compau. Ashley Collier retired the next two batters on a fly to second base and a one hopper to the shortstop to hold Frankenmuth scoreless in the eighth inning.

Brooklyn Compau struck out Freeland’s leadoff hitter in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jenna Kowalski doubled to the center field fence. Brooklyn Compau retired the next batter on a popup to the pitcher. Evelynn Rybicki was intentionally walked. Jenna Kowalski advanced to third base and Evelynn Rybicki to second on a wild pitch. Jenna Irrer walked to load the bases with two out. Madeline McDonald singled to right field drive Jenna Kowalski home with the winning run.

Freeland won the second game of this doubleheader 5-4 in extra innings.

Payton Schafsnitz had a double for Frankenmuth. Kendall Thompson had a single and two RBI. Peyton Anderson had a single and one RBI. Chloe Compau and Izzy Bernthal each had a single. Kennedy Crandall had one RBI.

Brooklyn Compau pitched nearly the entire eight innings and recorded every out. She struck out nine batters.

Jenna Kowalski had two singles and a double for Freeland. Isabel Cumper, Madeline McDonald and Avery Mantei each had a single and one RBI. Brynn Jaime and Evelynn Rybicki each had one single.

Isabel Cumper pitched the first five innings for Freeland. She gave up four runs and struck out three Eagles. Ashley Collier pitched three shutout innings for the Falcons and struck out three Frankenmuth batters.
