Fowler at Portland St. Patrick – – First Game of Softball Doubleheader – – The Bleacher Denizen – – May 11, 2026 – – by Chuck Krafft
Today, the BleacherDenizenMobile is taking the Bleacher Denizen to Portland St. Patrick, where the Shamrocks will host the Eagles from Fowler in a CMAC Doubleheader. Fowler is a good team that has just been selected to compete in the Annual Hall of Fame Softball Classic. St. Patrick has a lot of great athletes back from its basketball team that played in the State Final at the Breslin Center this year.
I had a new experience when I stopped at the Portland Party Store and got a slice of pickle pizza for an early supper. It had a chipotle drizzle on it. It was really tasty!
Portland St. Patrick is the home team and Fowler will bat first. Here are the starting lineups.

It is now time to review the events of this game through the hopefully observant eyes of an Aging Bleacher Denizen who was never able to escape Church League when he attempted to play ball in the days of yore. He had some success implanting iron shavings in the ball and a magnet in his bat, but when the Baseball Powers that be learned of this, they banned the practice. Alas, when balls no longer hit the Bleacher Denizen’s bat, the coach made sure that the Bleacher Denizen was never on the field.
